Our team has been working hard for months to bring the show back once again. The show should be running very soon, so please be patient as this complex show takes 1000's of hours to put together. Please check out our FaceBook page for further updates.
January 2nd, 2013 -
Thank You!
We had a great 2012 show, and we would like to thank everyone that made the Holiday House possible!
We are working very hard to finish the show and will keep this website updated as we get closer to launch! In the meantime, please check out our builders log (See below) or some of our past show videos!
We are pleased to announce that the holiday show is running this year at a new location! The show premiers tonight (December 24, 2010) and will run nightly through January 2nd 2011.
After a 4 year break, we are at it again with a bigger display that could only fit on a commercial location. It features more than 100,000 Christmas lights synchronized to music, displayed on creations hand-built specifically for the location and season. One of which is mega Christmas tree standing over 24 feet above the building's own roof line.
People can park in the parking lot of Safeway on Fair Oaks and Manzanita and tune their FM radio to 107.5 to hear the broadcasted music located on top of the Kovars Karate building.
The show benefits the Kawanis Family House, a not for profit organization that we the builders have been involved with for years. People enjoying the show are encouraged to bring nonperishable goods and canned food items for donation to benefit those in need this holiday season. See you there!
UPDATE: May 28th, 2009 -
Ever wondered how the Holiday House worked? Well now is your chance! Parts of the Holiday House, including the firework displays, Mega Tree, custom control hardware and software will be at MakersFaire May 30th and 31st 2009. We look forward to seeing you at the show!
UPDATE: December 11th, 2008 -
The Holiday House needs your help! We are looking for a new location and sponsors to bring the house back to our community. The Holiday House not only brought joy to many, but it
also collected more than 7000 canned goods for food for families. With your help we can bring it back! Please contact us if you are interested in helping us give back to the community. Click Here to contact us.
UPDATE: December 1st, 2008 - Unfortunately, the Holiday House will not be running this year (2008) as a couple neighbors have threatened legal action due to traffic congestion. This is sad news for all of us. Last year we raised more than $15,000 worth of canned goods for Food for Families, which will now be short this year. We are looking for a new location for 2008, preferably a large commercial location that can sustain the traffic for years to come. If you have any ideas, suggestions or would like to help sponsor the Holiday House, please contact us. In other news, we will be re-releasing our videos with higher quality audio and we will be releasing a .how we did it. video very soon. Please join our e-mail list to be notified when it is released. Thanks again for all of your support and kind words.
UPDATE: December 22nd, 2007 -
The Holiday House was featured on WealthTV (A High Definition Channel). They gave us some great coverage and I encourage you all to take a look. They even show some good behind the scenes footage.

Welcome to the official site
of the Holiday House in Sacramento, California!
First and foremost, we would like to thank the following sponsors
for making this project a reality:
Without their support, the holiday house would not
be what it is today. Thanks to their generosity, we are able
to spread holiday cheer throughout the community, as well
as benefit local charities. Special thanks to the Trans Siberian Orchestra for the music that we used in our shows. Please visit their website and see them in concert if you get a chance!
This season, the Holiday House
features over 100,000 Christmas Lights carefully synchronized
to a wide variety of holiday music. We first introduced this
project in 2005 and had an amazing turnout. From busses to
limos to people walking down the street, people came from
all over to see the show. Some nights we would entertain 500
to 1000 people, and this year we hope to share some holiday
cheer with even more of you.
I have probably seen the show
thousands of times by now, and I still smile when watching
the videos of last season, thinking of the great memories
and long hours it took to get this show up and running. Best
of all, I remember how much joy and laughter it brought to
people who came to experience the show in person. That joy
is what made it all worthwhile.
You can check out the videos
of the show on this site, but they hardly do the show justice.
Some of the details such as the laser(!) and other small details
do not show up in the videos, and you really need to see them
in person for maximum enjoyment.
If you live close to Sacramento,
I encourage you to experience this event in person, as it
is breathtaking to see the house come to life before your
very eyes. In fact, I still remember the amazement I felt
the first night we got all of our equipment working. It was
simply amazing to see something so large light up and dance
to music.
Each year we plan on adding
something new and amazing to the event, so I hope you can
stop by to experience the spectacular Holiday House 2006!
